Ive had my dvd recorder now for about 2 weeks and iam so impressed with it, the 160gb hard disk internal can fit tonnes of stuff on it, the facility to pause live tv is very very useful! The other thing i found was that it is so easy to use and to set for recording, you can even press the skip track button when watching a recording and it will skip the adverts out. One little gripe is that the remote control isnt very sensitive you have to aim straight at the player otherwise it wont work, also the actual display on the front of the recorder isnt very bright and is quite small as apposed to my sony dvd player. The best feature on this machine is the sync record, if you have a smart link compatible telly you can just press the sync rec button and it will just record anything that is being displayed on the screen enabling you to transfer your vhs over to dvd and to make back-ups of your dvd's. never been easier.

In the "What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision" Awards 2005 this unit is described as "the very epitome of Sony's excellence". We've had ours for a few weeks now and I couldn't agree more. The picture quality is excellent from all sources - broadcasts, recordings and pre-recorded DVDs. It supports all the formats you could wish for and is extremely easy to use, especially the EPG. The remote control lacks a mute button but, apart from that, I have no criticisms at all and the 'chasing playback' is the icing on the cake.
